1850 Wine Cellars

offers a relaxed tasting experience inspired by California’s early wine pioneers and the historic character of the Sierra Foothills. Located in Sutter Creek, the winery draws primarily from vineyards in Amador, Fair Play, and other nearby American Viticultural Areas. Its connection to these established growing regions allows the wines to reflect warm days, varied elevations, and the agricultural heritage of Gold Country.

The portfolio features classic varieties associated with California’s winemaking history, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Barbera, and other heritage grapes. These selections highlight expressive fruit, balanced structure, and the distinctive personality of Sierra Foothills vineyards. Wine flights give guests an opportunity to compare several styles and identify bottles suited to their individual tastes.

Visitors can also enjoy wine by the glass, refreshing sangria, and small bites in a comfortable setting. The approachable menu makes the tasting room suitable for casual afternoons, friendly gatherings, and stops during a broader tour of Sutter Creek. With regionally sourced fruit, historically inspired wines, and welcoming hospitality, 1850 Wine Cellars provides an enjoyable introduction to the traditions and flavors of California’s Sierra Foothills wine country.
