Conrad Viano Winery

is a historic family-owned winery located in Martinez, California, in Contra Costa County. Founded by the Viano family in 1920, the estate has deep roots in California’s wine heritage, with vineyard history dating back to 1888. Inspired by their Italian heritage and the vineyards of Piedmont, the Viano family transformed the property into a thriving wine estate that continues to be operated by later generations.

The winery is known for its century-old vineyard surrounded by hillsides and benefiting from cooling breezes from the Carquinez Straits. Conrad Viano Winery produces a diverse selection of handcrafted wines, including Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, French Colombard, Muscat Canelli, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay, Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, and Zinfandel. Many of the original vines remain part of the vineyard, while newer plantings help meet modern wine preferences.

Conrad Viano Winery follows traditional winemaking practices combined with sustainable farming methods. Native yeast fermentation, careful vineyard management, and aging in small oak barrels help create wines that express the character of the land and the family’s winemaking traditions. The winery’s direct-to-consumer approach allows guests to experience authentic, handcrafted wines with a strong connection to the estate.

Visitors can enjoy tastings at the Martinez estate while exploring the winery’s rich history and welcoming atmosphere. With its historic vineyard, generations of family dedication, and commitment to quality craftsmanship, Conrad Viano Winery offers a unique California wine experience that celebrates tradition, heritage, and the enduring spirit of family winemaking.
