Gypsy Canyon Winery

is a boutique estate winery located in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA of Santa Barbara County, California. Founded by winemaker Deborah Hall, the winery is known for its historic vineyard, handcrafted wines, and dedication to preserving the unique heritage of California’s early winegrowing traditions. The property features a historic Mission grape vineyard originally planted in 1887, which was rediscovered and carefully restored after remaining hidden for decades. Today, Gypsy Canyon Winery continues to honor this remarkable vineyard history through small-production wines that reflect the land’s character.

The winery specializes in limited-production Chardonnay, Estate Pinot Noir, and its renowned Ancient Vine Angelica, a fortified dessert wine made from historic Mission grapes. Gypsy Canyon Winery focuses on natural vineyard expression, careful farming, and traditional winemaking techniques to create wines with exceptional depth and personality. The estate Pinot Noir vineyard was planted in 1999 with Dijon clones, while the restored Mission vines represent one of Santa Barbara County’s most unique historic vineyard treasures.

Visitors can experience Gypsy Canyon Winery through private appointments, where guests can explore the story behind the vineyard, learn about Deborah Hall’s winemaking philosophy, and taste rare handcrafted releases. The intimate setting provides a personal connection to the wines and the history of the estate.

With its historic vines, artisan approach, and commitment to preserving California wine heritage, Gypsy Canyon Winery offers a truly distinctive wine experience. Its dedication to small-batch craftsmanship and vineyard-driven wines makes it a memorable destination for collectors and wine enthusiasts seeking something unique.
