Goosecross Cellars

Founded in 1985, Goosecross Cellars is a family-owned Napa Valley winery located along the scenic State Lane in Yountville. The winery earned its distinctive name from the surname of its original owners, the Gorsuch family, as “Gorsuch” is derived from an old English term meaning “where the goose crossed the stream.” Over the years, Goosecross developed a reputation as a welcoming boutique winery known for combining high-quality wines with a relaxed, unpretentious hospitality experience.

A significant chapter in the winery’s history began in 2013 when Christi Coors Ficeli, a member of the renowned Coors family, acquired the property and launched a major revitalization effort. Working alongside her husband, Dave Ficeli, she modernized the winery while preserving its approachable character and strong connection to Napa Valley’s agricultural heritage. In 2021, Christi and Dave became full owners of Goosecross, transforming it into a true family-operated wine business focused on long-term stewardship and growth.

The winery is centered around its estate vineyard in Yountville, where the team produces a range of wines that express Napa Valley’s diverse terroir. Goosecross is particularly known for Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese. Under the direction of winemaker Bill Nancarrow, whose experience spans New Zealand, South Africa, Europe, and Napa Valley, the winery emphasizes sustainable farming, innovation, and minimal-intervention techniques designed to preserve varietal and regional authenticity.
