Shadow Mountain Vineyards & Winery

Shadow Mountain Vineyards & Winery is a historic family-owned winery located in Warner Springs, California, in the mountains of San Diego County. Established from vineyard roots dating back to 1945, the estate has a long history of grape growing and winemaking in the region. Originally planted by Italian immigrant Gus Mase, the vineyard has continued through generations and remains dedicated to producing handcrafted wines that reflect the unique character of its high-elevation location.

Located at approximately 3,300 feet elevation in the Sunshine Summit area, Shadow Mountain Vineyards benefits from warm sunny days, cool nights, Pacific Ocean breezes, and rocky granite-based soils. These conditions create an ideal environment for growing quality grapes with vibrant flavors and balanced acidity. The winery produces a diverse selection of limited-production wines, including red wines, white wines, dessert wines, and sparkling selections, with around 20 different varieties crafted for wine enthusiasts.

Shadow Mountain Vineyards follows a hands-on approach focused on careful vineyard management, traditional winemaking, and preserving the natural expression of the estate. The winery’s commitment to quality and authenticity allows each bottle to showcase the distinctive mountain terroir of San Diego County.

Visitors can enjoy tastings at the Sunshine Summit property while taking in scenic mountain views and the peaceful vineyard atmosphere. With its historic vines, family dedication, and unique high-altitude setting, Shadow Mountain Vineyards & Winery offers a memorable Southern California wine experience for those seeking handcrafted wines and a true connection to the land.
