The Red Hook Winery

brings New York-grown wine to Brooklyn’s waterfront through an urban production facility, distinctive vineyard partnerships, and memorable city views. Founded in 2008 by Mark Snyder, the winery was created to identify and showcase exceptional vineyard sites across New York State. Grapes arrive from Long Island’s North Fork and the Finger Lakes, then are transformed from fruit to finished bottle at Pier 41.

Managing winemaker Christopher Nicolson works with consulting winemakers Robert Foley and Abe Schoener to create individual expressions of each vineyard. Rather than following one fixed house style, the team allows climate, geology, farming methods, grape variety, and vintage conditions to shape every wine. This approach has produced an extensive collection reflecting the diversity of New York’s developing wine regions.

Visitors can explore the portfolio through tasting flights, wines by the glass, and access to approximately 150 labels. The waterfront tasting room provides striking views of the Statue of Liberty, Manhattan, and the East River, creating an impressive setting for couples, friends, and wine enthusiasts.
