Rickety Bridge Winery Inc.

Rickety Bridge Winery Rickety Bridge Winery offers a historic South African wine experience surrounded by vineyards, mountain scenery, and the natural beauty of the Franschhoek Valley. The estate’s winemaking heritage dates back to the seventeenth century, when the land formed part of the original La Provence farm granted to French Huguenot settlers. In 1797, Paulina de Villiers received the property and planted its first grapevines.

The 50-hectare estate includes approximately 15 hectares of established vineyards, with additional land under development. Sandy soils near the Franschhoek River support certain grape varieties, while decomposed granite on the hillsides creates excellent conditions for producing premium red wines. The Paulina’s Reserve collection honors the estate’s original owner and includes a respected Cabernet Sauvignon.

Visitors can sample award-winning wines inside the modern tasting center, relax on leather couches beside the fireplace, or enjoy outdoor tastings on the verandah during warmer weather. A restaurant serves meals overlooking the vineyards, while luxury accommodations, wedding facilities, and conference spaces allow guests to extend their stay. With its centuries-old history, scenic mountain setting, acclaimed wines, and refined hospitality, Rickety Bridge Winery provides a memorable Cape Winelands destination.
