Benton Lane Winery

Benton-Lane Winery Benton-Lane Winery is a pioneering estate winery that has helped shape Oregon’s reputation for world-class cool-climate wines since its founding in 1988. Established by acclaimed winemaker Steve Girard, the winery was created with a vision of producing exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the then-emerging Willamette Valley. Today, the estate encompasses 317 acres, including 140 acres of vineyards surrounded by forests and protected by the Coast Range, creating a unique rain-shadow climate ideal for slow, balanced ripening. Old vines, diverse volcanic and sedimentary soils, and a commitment to sustainable, organic, and biodynamic-inspired farming allow the winery to craft elegant wines that truly express their remarkable terroir.

The winery is best known for its estate-grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, produced in limited quantities from carefully managed vineyard blocks. Each parcel is farmed individually, with grapes harvested and vinified separately to preserve their distinctive characteristics before thoughtful blending. Natural vineyard practices, dry farming, and careful aging in French oak create wines celebrated for their freshness, structure, balance, and complexity. Guided tastings introduce guests to current releases and limited-production selections while sharing the estate’s philosophy of vineyard-focused winemaking.

Beyond its wines, Benton-Lane Winery offers a peaceful tasting room, vineyard walks, seasonal events, and panoramic countryside views. Its combination of pioneering heritage, sustainable viticulture, artisan craftsmanship, and welcoming hospitality makes every visit a memorable Oregon wine country experience.
