Maragas Winery

is a family-owned estate winery in Central Oregon that combines centuries-old Greek winemaking traditions with the unique terroir of the region’s high desert landscape. Founded in 1999 by Doug Maragas, the winery challenged conventional wisdom by successfully cultivating European grape varieties in an area once considered unsuitable for vineyards. Today, the organically farmed estate continues to produce handcrafted wines while embracing sustainable vineyard practices and traditional techniques passed down through generations of the Maragas family. Surrounded by views of Smith Rock and the Cascade Mountains, visitors are welcomed to a peaceful setting where exceptional wines, scenic beauty, and genuine hospitality create a memorable tasting experience.

Guests can sample an impressive collection of handcrafted wines featuring Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Malbec, Zinfandel, and distinctive red and white blends. Extended barrel aging, natural winemaking methods, and organically grown grapes allow each wine to develop remarkable depth, balance, and character while expressing the vineyard’s unique environment.

Beyond its wines, Maragas Winery offers art displays, seasonal events, artisan cheese pairings, wine club benefits, and relaxing outdoor spaces. Its blend of family traditions, organic farming, award-winning wines, and welcoming hospitality makes every visit an unforgettable Oregon wine country experience.
