Pondera Winery LLC

Pondera Winery Pondera Winery is a family-owned boutique winery founded in 2005 by acclaimed winemaker Shane Howard, whose passion for balanced, handcrafted wines has earned recognition throughout Washington’s wine industry. Located in Woodinville’s Warehouse Winery District, the winery specializes in limited-production wines crafted from premium grapes sourced from some of Washington’s most respected vineyards across multiple American Viticultural Areas. Producing only about 3,000 cases annually, Pondera focuses on quality over quantity, allowing every wine to receive meticulous attention from vineyard selection through extended barrel and bottle aging. The winery’s name, derived from the Latin word for “balance,” reflects its philosophy of creating elegant wines that harmonize fruit, structure, and complexity. The welcoming tasting room also features a rotating collection of fine artwork, creating a distinctive setting where wine and creativity come together.

Visitors can enjoy guided tastings featuring Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Syrah, Chardonnay, Viognier, Bordeaux-style blends, and other limited-release wines. Knowledgeable staff share insights into vineyard sourcing, blending techniques, food pairings, and the winery’s thoughtful approach to crafting expressive Washington wines. Each tasting offers an engaging experience for both newcomers and experienced wine enthusiasts.

Beyond its handcrafted wines, Pondera Winery offers wine club memberships, seasonal releases, special events, and personalized hospitality in an inviting atmosphere. Whether discovering award-winning wines, exploring the gallery-inspired tasting room, or relaxing with friends, guests can expect exceptional craftsmanship, attentive service, and a memorable Washington wine country experience.
