Bangor Trust Brewing

was a family-owned nano-brewery, bakery, and restaurant located in historic downtown Bangor, Pennsylvania. The brewery opened in 2017 and developed a reputation for combining organic brewing with homemade artisan foods. Its brewing program used organic grist, homegrown hops, and locally sourced ingredients, reflecting the owners’ commitment to quality and regional products. The brewery also offered a welcoming environment with live music, entertainment, and community events.

The beer selection included a range of handcrafted beers brewed on site, while the kitchen served homemade breads, sandwiches, flatbreads, greens, desserts, and daily specials. Bangor Trust Brewing also offered Pennsylvania-made wines, ciders, spirits, and craft beverages from other regional producers. Its artisan bakery was an important part of the experience, using ingredients such as unbleached flour, brewer’s malt, olive oil, and locally sourced products to create fresh baked goods.

Although Bangor Trust Brewing is now permanently closed, its history remains part of the Slate Belt’s craft beverage story. The brewery helped establish a distinctive local destination where beer, baking, food, and community came together under one roof. Today, the former location is associated with Slate Belt Brewing Company, which opened there in February 2025 and continues the tradition of making the historic downtown Bangor location a gathering place for residents and visitors.
