Tannery Run Brew Works

is an independently owned craft brewpub located at 131 East Butler Avenue in Ambler, Pennsylvania. The brewery opened in 2019 and takes its name from Tannery Run, the waterway flowing directly beneath the building. Its interior combines exposed brick, corrugated metal, polished wood, and greenery, creating a distinctive atmosphere that blends historic character with a modern neighborhood gathering place.

Tannery Run Brew Works is particularly known for its unique “SPLATCH” brewing method. This technique involves splitting one base beer into separate batches and treating or fermenting each portion differently, allowing brewers to create two distinct beers from the same starting recipe. The approach gives the brewery a varied tap list while encouraging experimentation and comparison between related styles.

The brewpub offers house-brewed beers alongside cider, Pennsylvania-produced wine and spirits, and a rotating food menu. Guests can enjoy sandwiches, flatbreads, salads, and seasonal dishes in a comfortable setting designed for dining and socializing. Its location is also convenient for visitors attending performances at the nearby Ambler Theater or ACT II Playhouse.

With its unusual split-batch brewing technique, locally inspired identity, and welcoming atmosphere, Tannery Run Brew Works offers a distinctive craft-beer experience in Ambler. Its connection to the waterway beneath the building adds character, while its rotating beers provide plenty of variety. For travelers exploring the Philadelphia-area craft-beer scene, Tannery Run is an appealing destination focused on creativity, community, and fresh beer.
