The story began in the early 1980s when Nicholas and Athena Karabots purchased the historic Oxmoor Estate and neighboring Brookside Farm, later combining the properties under the name Karamoor, meaning “my happiness.” Inspired by a vision to produce world-class wines in the Philadelphia suburbs, the family planted its first vineyards in 2006 with the guidance of renowned viticulturist Lucie Morton. Since releasing its first commercial vintage in 2008, Karamoor has remained dedicated to crafting elegant wines exclusively from estate-grown grapes while welcoming guests to a beautiful countryside retreat surrounded by historic farmland.
