Abjuration Brewing

is an independent nano brewery located at 644 Broadway Avenue in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. Founded by two longtime friends and brewers from the Pittsburgh area, the brewery was created with a focus on small-scale, handcrafted beer and experimentation. Abjuration Brewing takes its name from the idea of rejecting conventional approaches, reflecting its philosophy of moving beyond standard flagship beer models and continually exploring new brewing possibilities.

Abjuration Brewing produces a diverse range of beers, with a particular emphasis on hoppy and sour American ales. Its brewing program can include IPAs, pale ales, milkshake ales, kettle sours, Belgian-inspired beers, stouts, and other experimental creations. Rather than following a fixed lineup, Abjuration Brewing uses a unique versioning system, with recipe changes resulting in new versions of individual beers. This approach allows the brewers to continually refine and experiment with ingredients and techniques.

The brewery embraces a “mad scientist” approach to brewing, experimenting with different hops, yeast, malts, adjuncts, and other ingredients. Its small-scale operation gives the brewers flexibility to test new ideas and release frequently changing beers. This makes each visit an opportunity to discover something different from the previous tap list.

With its innovative brewing philosophy, rotating experimental beers, and strong connection to the Pittsburgh craft beer community, Abjuration Brewing offers a distinctive experience in McKees Rocks. Whether you enjoy hop-forward ales, sour beers, or unconventional specialty releases, Abjuration Brewing is a worthwhile destination for exploring Pittsburgh’s creative independent brewery scene.
