Gauthier Vineyard

offers a peaceful countryside wine experience on the 110-acre Fair Winds family farm in New Kent County. The winery introduced its first offerings in 2014 and has since welcomed visitors seeking handcrafted wines, scenic surroundings, and genuine family hospitality. Its spacious rural setting makes it an appealing destination for couples, friends, families, and travelers exploring the historic region.

The property is also home to Hensley Show Horses, a world-class equestrian operation with a barn filled with accomplished champions. Guests relaxing on the large covered winery veranda may hear horses playing in nearby paddocks while overlooking a century-old pond stocked with bass and snapping turtles. The surrounding woods support abundant wildlife, including deer, rabbits, beavers, squirrels, bald eagles, and red-tailed hawks.

Local relic hunters have identified the land as a former Civil War encampment used by both Union and Confederate forces during the Peninsula Campaign. This historical connection inspires several wine names honoring legendary individuals and nearby locations that helped shape the nation. With handcrafted wines, equestrian heritage, wildlife, peaceful views, and meaningful history, Gauthier Vineyard provides a distinctive Virginia winery experience.
